Thumbs Down

Is there a reason this forum doesn't offer a "thumbs down" option for disagreeing with a comment? For me, sometimes I find it's best not to respond to a poster because I don't want to say something hurtful but I also disagree vehemently with the comment and I want to express that disagreement.

Just wondering what the background and history is.

We used to have an Reputation button and that was removed because of some abusing it. Same thing with the thumbs down, everyone would be just automatically thumbing down people they dont like or people who have different politics.

Thanking and not thanking a post serves the same thing basically

My voice is being silenced in a sense because I don't want to be leave a comment that would most likely be viewed as mean and beyond the pale.

I need more options to express myself!!!!!!! ARGH

Right, it only takes one or two children to $#@! it up for everyone.

A site I used to frequent instead had "buy this person a beer" or "$#@! punch" as rep options.

I've often suggested adding a "No Thanks" alongside the "Thanks." Not enough people want it.

Because not thanking it says the same thing, we dont need another irritant on the forum. Besides if we did implement a thumbs down you can bet your life there will be another 5 threads complaining about it
