I know a fair number of people who work for various levels of government, including family members and I have even worked in government myself when I was very young. It's more often than not, a very different skill set predicated on a very different set of rules and objectives. Business does not generally value a background in government.

Prostitution is the same. And for the same reasons. Trish can get an honorable job. I cannot say the same for the others here who work in government jobs.

You nailed it, Dr. Who. I am at the top of the salary range and my role is one that touches on practically all responsibilities within the agency. I could parlay that into a bigger salary with industry, not only for my knowledge of internal processes and procedures but also for my connections within the Agency.......but I would feel like I was compromising my principles. We having a saying for those who cash in and go to work for industry. They've gone over to the dark side.

Only people on the Dark Side say that about the Light. You are comfortable where you are.

It's not always about money. Some of us choose a career that make us feel like we are contributing to our fellow man. Although I do admit where I work I'd like to see more separation between us and industry. There is too much cozying up that has happened which is in contrast to our mission, imo. Many that I work with feel the same way.

Some private industry and organizations not all. I apologize that I was not clear. I was thinking of the industry I normally deal with and didn't think beyond that when I answered you earlier. That was my error.
