President Trump is ramping up his efforts to make a public case for his border wall as the partial government shutdown is now in its third week, planning a prime-time address Tuesday night and a visit to the border Thursday.
Trump announced the news of his presidential address in a Monday tweet.
“I am pleased to inform you that I will Address the Nation on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border,” he said. “Tuesday night at 9:00 P.M. Eastern.”

Most voters oppose President Trump’s demand for border wall funding, but think that the White House and congressional Democrats should compromise on funding for the president’s long-promised project, according to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill.
The survey found that 56 percent of respondents do not support the president’s proposal to construct a wall along the southern border, compared to 44 percent who do.

Erecting a broad security barrier along the border is only slightly more popular, according to the poll. Only 46 percent of respondents support that proposal, while 54 percent oppose it.
A majority of U.S. voters surveyed, 58 percent, said Trump should withdraw his demand for the border funding, while 42 percent said the president “should not give in."

The thing is, if you really do support border security, you pretty much have to support the President's proposals because they are the only logical, sensible and viable proposals that have been presented.

I disagree. The facts show that illegal crossings have been declining for about ten years now, which would indicate that what we’re doing now is working. Keep doing that and reform our immigration laws seems to be the best course.

How do we secure the border without a barrier, I keep asking those against the wall this question and have not received an answer yet.

The democrat leadership is unequivocally full of $#@!, they are for leaving those borders wide open. They have offered absolutely no alternatives to a barrier, they have offered no solutions, they condone sanctuary cities and states and breaking federal law by theiir own democrats by their silence.

Now one more time, tell me how we secure the border without a barrier.
