Tipping is almost unheard of in Europe and that is why French waiters have such a reputation for being jack weeds. They have no reason to be nice.

Hardware clerks are nice and they aren't tipped. They are expected to provide customer service or go serve someone else's customer's

Tipping in Europe is just rounding up when you pay the bill.

It is better. That is why they don't tip big there. They also tend to have less servers to pay.
