Media bias / fact check dot com

Media bias / fact check dot com

I spent some time researching Media Bias / Fact Check (MBFC). It gets mixed reviews, but it appears to be fairly good compared to other fact check websites. I however, think it is biased to the left.

Wiki actually provides a good summary showing both sides.

Rational Wiki goes into more detail.

The fact that MBFC considers Washington Post Fact Check as a trusted source is telling. WaPo's fact check is horrible. It tends to "fact check" subjective statements as if they were offered as fact. And some of their conclusions seem contrary to their own analysis.

Sure. I said it was better than most fact check sites. I actually like the website and how they present their information.

It is good enough for your average Joe, especially if they consider it to be slightly left.

It is much better than using WaPo fact check which is largely propaganda.

Yes, I do. I am from a very small Mahoning-Valley farm town. A town that has been beat down by the drastic loss of steel jobs, automotive jobs, the decline of small family farms and the flight of us college-educated that never came back. My family and friends are there, still. I get down there regularly. I speak to these people all the time. They aren't the pretty coffee-house types of people that MSNBC likes, but they voted D pretty regularly up until they all voted for Trump. I was the outcast b/c I'm a Republican Lawyer that represents insurance companies -- but if I broke down at midnight in Cleveland they'd be there in two hours no questions asked. Anyways, they talk facts. They talk like they've researched it from a multitude of sources. They talk like they care about getting the straight scoop. They all, every one of them, live pay check to paycheck - when they're working. The sense I got over the holidays is that they're angry with what Washington is doing to Donald. I'll be "down home" next weekend. It'll be interesting to see how they feel about the shut down -- I bet dinner that they've a) not noticed; and, b) don't want Donald to cave.
Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect. -- Woody Hayes

Well, that's a strange concept from those who heard the president say he would be proud to shut down the government...until he didn't.

People will defend their "party" even when they know flat out how horrible they are. It makes some sense for the rich to generally support the repubs and for the poor to generally support dems . ( At least until you delve into the "two major parties" actions vs. rhetoric.
But the polarization of the abused middle class . The ability of the donkephant to get the middle class to split between the "the two" vs. forming their own party to represent them is the closest thing to mind control I've ever seen.
