All laws are legal until a court says otherwise, again that is why I would like it to be enforced, then you would quickly get court actions. Personally I do not think that the Alcohol Prohibition required an amendment, but by doing so they removed the chance of the courts overturning it, had they done it though just a law it would have been challenged and we might have had this question answered already. I agree, generally speaking the Gov't oversteps it's authority in a lot of areas drugs being one of them. I do not think the Alcohol Prohibition was right or a good idea. I grew up in the "Dry Capitol of the World", Westerville Ohio, they stayed dry from 1859-2006. Drugs and alcohol are the same and they are different, I think the courts need to decide if their regulation should be the same. But until that happens enforce the laws, or do we just go through and decide what other laws we choose to ignore.

Yeah, but let's be honest, you're a bit of a control freak in this regard. Even if pot is bad for you, so what? We should imprison people for everything that's bad for you? I prefer liberty.

Besides, this has nothing to do with the potential ill health effects of marijuana, this is purely a function of bad leftist policy.

As an aside the US Controlled Substances Act was created in response to international treaties that the US signed. The idea was that nations would work together to control "dangerous" substances.

There are some that make you want to lay on the couch and eat Doritos.

There's another which makes you want to get outside and work on various projects. The only problem is that you basically putter around with no attention span. You'll get stuff dome, but you'll only have the attention span to work on a project for five or ten minutes before you're looking for something else to do.

My position has never changed Until Congress changes federal law, they should all be arrested and charged with drug trafficking, this will cause a couple events to happen. First it can force Congress to act, then we will see if the majority of the people want it really, second it will get to the courts and they will rule which level of the Gov't has the ultimate power on drugs....
The practice of ignoring laws can not be permitted to continue, you either have law and order or you do not.
The Federal government passed a bill, which the President signed into law removing hemp from Schedule I.

There are no compelling reasons to keep cannabis on Schedule I.

Hemp isn't even a drug. It never should have been on the list.

There is little difference between the plants in question.

Both plants contain all of the cannabinoids. The only difference is in the percentages.

When it comes to taxation they aren’t looking for ways to receive the most revenues. Taxes are used to get even with the wealthy, punish achievement and force behaviors.
