You seem unclear on the concept. Geothermal wells make a profit because they "generate" heat, which can be used for heating or making electricity.

How much do you really know about volcanoes?
Clearly more than you, being you didn't know the purpose of geothermal wells. And to think your votes counts as much as a normal person's vote.

I know one thing for sure, there's not enough money to pay anyone to try and tap that kind of energy. But of course, as brilliant as you are, you'd just walk up to it and demand it give in to your demands.
I know enough about volcanoes to know they are unpredictable and dangerous. Anyone thinking they could tame a volcano needs to be locked up.
Ok, smart guy, how many volcanoes does the US have that we can tap into to produce enough energy to power America?
Oh, and BTW, how many advanced classes of geology have you had?

I plan on letting the free market handle it.

Interesting, how a free market solution never crossed your mind. Our minds clearly work in different ways, with me being the capitalist.

So according to your bizarre logic here, nobody can ever use geothermal power in a volcanic region. Maybe you should tell the Icelanders that.

As I never talked about using volcanoes to power America, that's a very strange question. If you want it answered, you'll have to demonstrate how it's relevant to the topic.

Oh, and BTW, how many advanced classes of geology have you had?
Are you saying it takes an advanced degree in geology to understand that geothermal wells pull heat out of the ground?

First, you are a liberal so you are not a capitalist. So you lied about that. Secondly, that magma is under extreme pressure, more than any volcano ever known. A normal person would drill into it as they would drill a hole into a full butane tank.

Ever seen an oil well when it comes in? Multiply that by a million times. You will get a free ride to the moon although in small pieces.
Liberals are a clear and present danger to our freedom and our society and our morals.

I think he got the idea from a movie....................
The technology does exist to day to tap that kind of energy. It only exists in sci-fi movies.

So, it appears Captdon and Pete think that geothermal wells drill into the magma.

    Wow. Just wow.

The object of geothermal energy extraction is to tap the energy.

Drilling down far enough to violate the nag MN a chamber is like a dentist entering the nerve chamber of a tooth. It us not supposed to hPpen.

If Yellowstone blows, the global warming problem goes away. So there is that.
Likely soon in geological time. But long after our children's, children's children's great grandchildren are dust.
