Ten thousand geothermal wells operating over several centuries would draw a geologically significant amount of heat off of the hotspot.
But liberals are stupid and believe lies...and the claim that liberalism is based on reality is one of the biggest lies of all.

Like that crap you just spewed about it being possible for geothermal energy extraction to cool the magma chamber.

How ever did the farmers of eastern Washington survive the mountains of ash created by Mt St. Helen's?

The Yakima area got pummeled. But yes, much of the ash fell further away. Western Washington was basically uneffected. Eastern Washington was buried in ash. People didn't die.

There were bumper crops for a few years after St. Helens. The soil was enriched. It was almost where you threw a seed in the ground, you had to jump out of the way.

    Volcanic ash is extremely fertile.

But Mt. SH was no super volcano. The cropland within a thousand miles of Yellowstone will be buried when it next erupts. Whole orders of magnitude worse.

Then there will be the volcanic winter, which could easily trigger an ice age, to further impede recovery.

Really, the global economy is not prepared for a disaster of that magnitude...especially not when the world's only economic super-power is laid low by an eruption in it's heartland.

The first result of the super eruption will be global war as the world's policeman is put out of action and the world's whiny spoiled little girl, Europe gets raped by Russia before the ice sheets start to flow.

Also, I would expect the US to invade Mexico, because payback is a $#@!, and because we would need to move our people south.

Canada would be $#@!ed. They would discover just how friendly their pals in Europe really are. They haven't been our pals lately, so we'd return them their Bieber and say no more, thanks.

China would move to seize US possessions in the south China Sea, South Korea would have to learn how to speak North Korean, if you catch my drift, (the SK econkmy will COLLAPSE faster thsn the US) and Japan would be rapidly reprocessing it's nuclear wastes for plutonium and scavenged U235 to make firecrackers.

Our North Dakota oil fields would be erased, and, I expect, federal law would override all the laws in today's foolish states that presently ban fracking. There would be a massive effort to recover fallow farmland and food rationing would almost be certain.

The fisheries would be devastated and the Gulf Stream might stop....so much for a warm Europe.

There would be a major push in the US, and elsewhere, to evict the illegal aliens, because we could not feed them. This of course, would be violent because the Rodents will never voluntarily deport their most dependable criminal voting block.

And if you don't think the eruption of a super volcano in the US won't become a political matte4, you don't know Rodents.
