Traditionally, economic weakness and serious demographic issues are two excellent reasons for a dictatorship to wage a war of aggression.
I don't believe that they consider themselves to be "a regional power struggling for relevancy", whether that is the reality of their situation or not.

We get on quite well with Indo thanks....very good diplomatic relations and social and cultural exchange both ways . We have no interest or inclination to have any sort of war with them . Actually , they are one of our major trading partners , as is China Japan and India . It's how the world works . I think that will increase substantially when the new Silk Road trading routes are opened and functioning......15% to 20% increase in global trade , according to projections . Sooner or later , the US will have to face reality. American influence globally is in decline , and it's internal problems that are the cause . Thank fully the future is no longer dictated by America and the economy of endless wars.
