Maybe. I'm more inclined to think the backlash has been a long time coming. Men are tired of being demonized and shamed as a grouping. It's pretty simple. Any group that has long been demonized, (for whatever reasons) are going to get fed up and respond.

I think the ad could have gone in a less preachy and more positive route and would have been much better received.
    You are wrong about police.

That’s not really what it’s doing, though. It’s saying this is a male problem that only we have the ability to solve, and that we need to do better at teaching good values to the next generation of boys. If you don’t do anything to fix the problem then you are part of the problem, regardless of how you (general you, not you specifically) feel about it.

I’m mystified why they felt the need to do it at all, but...*shrug*

you have yet to show how using Gillette products make us better men.
And just what values do you assign with making us better men? Do you think those men who are good are going to be better by using Gillette products?
You have a dim view of real men ...but think of it, those deadbeats are going to become better dads by using Gillette products............we are saved!!!!!

I never claimed that using Gillette products made you a better man. Why would I prove a statement I didn’t make?

Because it would be really funny to watch you argue that using Gillette products make you a better man?

I backed the message of the commercial, yes. Nowhere in the commercial did it say using Gillette made you a better person.
