Not a good idea. Your passport probably has your criminal record incorporated.

You might be surprised how many people forget they have a weapon in their glove box or trunk or whatever. They just routinely have it. Or they think it is no biggy crossing the border and don't know the laws. So, when a stupider-than-average person is asked they may not remember the first time. Border patrol doesn't ask the same question multiple times because it is fun, they do it because over the years Americans have been arrested in Canada for possession of illegal/restricted firearms. Border patrol would rather turn you around and say to come back sans weapon.

    Oh I'm sure, no doubts.

It's why I hesitate a lot of times before climbing onto the "god, guns and government" bandwagon, I know there are a lot of dipshits out there in this sense.

I do my thing, what everyone else does I can't get over bothered by it.

Actually, there are two problems with American's crossing the border with guns. 1) Canadians can only legally possess handguns with permits which are only issued after passing a firearms course. 2) The US is the biggest source of illegal firearms in Canada - currently about 50% of all illegal firearms. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toron...onto-1.4759159

Apparently if you have any criminal record they will deny you entry, search your car, dive into your phone, and generally do what government does best - make you uncomfortable. All for 3 piddly misdemeanors for mouthing off to American police.

And they're obsessed with asking questions about guns.

Therefore Canada = a fa ggot.

    /Rant.

Concur. Was at the border years ago. All they wanted to know was about guns, even asked what models I had at home. I guess if you have a gun they impound your vehicle and you are off to jail. I'd like to tell them to go f off, none of your biz what I got at home. But might makes right.

Edit: fa ggot = homophobic, bigot, etc. If the dems get wind of that they will want to crucify you. The dems want a perfect world where no one is offended.

Why would you want a gun on visiting Canada?
