I was somewhat surprised there were no threads started on MLK yesterday. I would like to say this. I personally lived through his marches and speeches. I believe he was a remarkable man. He united his people like no one else had ever done. He showed his enemies how they were wrong in their mind set. He stood up for what was right and did it without violence on his part. He faced prison, beatings, and finally death to bring all Americans to freedom. For the truth is if you can enslave one group of people you can enslave all groups of people. I honestly believe Martin Luther King Jr. was striving for a completely non racial society. I think he certainly deserves to be honored to the fullest.
I often wonder however what would he think if he were still alive and could see the state of the Black community today, the constant whining, the subjecting themselves to being back on the government controlled plantation of welfare, the break up of the strong black family because of that welfare, the black on black crime and Blacks being their own worst enemy.
There are no MLK's on the horizon now. All of the Black "leadership" only looks to revenge rather than true freedom. Its a shame really, MLK brought us all so much promise and hope and James Earl Ray did no one any favors
