I'd rather do that then have a stinky litter box in the house. Cat urine and poo is seriously vile. You can train a dog to use a particular part of your yard for its business. My Shibas always used the one-foot space between the back trees and the back fence. The trees grew like crazy and it was never smelly.

Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Even Science Diet is a bit of a scam. If you want to avoid vet bills in the future, find a cat food with zero grain. Cats, unlike dogs, are strictly carnivores. Grain does two things - it limits the meat protein in the food and it's fattening. This causes the cat to be hungry (really craving meat protein) so it eats more and often lacking in sufficient exercise, they get fat. The combination sets them up for diabetes. I primarily raw fed my Shiba for most of his life and he lived to be 18, which is really old for a dog - he was also never fat or particularly interested in snacking. If you could mostly raw feed your cat, it would be ideal. For some bizarre reason (or perhaps for economic reasons) cat food manufacturers think that cats need stupid things like carrots and cranberries in their food, even if there is no grain. Those things just add sugar to the food. If a cat eats greens it's because they need some occasional roughage which they would normally get from the hair and bones of their prey, like mice. Some cat grass growing in a container provides that roughage in a nonfattening way i.e. it just passes through, undigested.
