A Solar flare could wipe out eveidence of our advancements

I was thinking about how we dont use film anymore to take pictures, we dont use paper to write. Most everythign is done digitally now. People have a whole life worth of pics on their phone, and computer. People have writings on their computers. If we ever get a good solar flare that wipes out our grid and kills our electronics, it will all be wiped in an instant. Whole lifetimes of photos gone. Entire volumes of writing gone.

In the distant future people will think that we were in the dark ages a generation without art, without writing. An unadvanced society.

Then a million years from now when we are long gone and we are just one of the layers beneath the soil. If someone excavates all they will find is a layer of plastics and toxins.

We are leaving one hell of a legacy on this planet.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

Get an external hard drive and regularly back up your photos, etc. Keep the hard drive in a Faraday cage.

Who's to say it hasn't happened before? Look how far we've come in only 6000 years, especially the last thousand. Homo Sapiens have been around for over 200,000 years and modern thinking Homo Sapiens over 30,000 years. 20,000 years ago there could have been an advanced society with a "disposable" and virtual culture that completely disappeared with a supervolcano, impact event, plague or solar event that pushed them back into the stone age.

If our current civilization collapsed, billions will die of starvation within a year or two. Billions more would die in the competition for dwindling resources. It'd be Biblical.

Good God, you worried about what aliens will think of us. You ought to worry about what people here think of you.

But the rest of the grid would be down world wide. Perhaps if you have solar panels and they didn't get fried by the solar flare then perhaps you could power it up...….. Kinda iffy...…..
