I'd like to know when taking a fairly modest inheritance and trying to build upon it and create your own brand became a bad thing? Is that driven by class envy?

First, I will lead with this. B. Sanders is talking about seizing all inheritances.
It has been the American way to do what you can through life, and if there's anything to pass down, it was. It is no guarantee that the inheritors will prosper. Most burn through it like a wildfire and have nothing to show for it within months. Trump repaid the loan he got from his father. He showed enough responsibility to his father to inherit what was left of his wealth. If Trump had been irresponsible, I wonder if he pops would have just doled it out over the course of years from a trust fund.......
