The answer is quite simple, first hes black and second a democrat. The press will do all it can to suppress the damage to their brand.

I hope he survives, I doubt he will however, but if he does let the left try it again on a republican.

With the Gov refusing to resign its changed these attacks forever.

What does that have to do with any of my comments?

Did Kavanaugh do as Ford said? Probably. Was it "attempted rape"? Doubtful considering the circumstances. Would it be considered sexual assault under 21st Century rules? Most definitely. Under 1980s rules? No.

There's a basic difference between what a person did 20-30 years ago in college and what they do today. I do not believe Kavanaugh should have been condemned for his actions as a high schooler or a college student just like I don't believe Northam should be condemned for those actions. It's what they've done in the past 20-30 years that matter.

That said, I believe Kavanaugh was less than honest under oath during his confirmation and that alone is enough to deny him a seat on the bench if Senators believed likewise.

How was he less than honest? Just because he said no, he's automatically guilty of an alleged event where there was no evidence of him even being at the scene of the alleged incident or her for that matter?
IF you actually watched the hearing, Ford was less sure of herself and was constantly writing her changes as the questions were asked. She wasn't a good witness. And coupled with the fact that she knew there was not Statute of Limitations for sexual assault charges, why try to drag the FBI into a case with the proper jurisdiction already established.
No, she lied and expected the FBI to investigate. They found nothing, the same as Montgomery County sheriff's office would have found. K, on the other hand. had more evidence that he didn't do it and wasn't even there that weekend.

It looks like articles of impeachment will soon be filed against Fairfax. This is just politics. With the mess in VA the Dems want the Lt Gov gone first so the Governor can appoint another Lt. Gov before the Gov is gone. Because the #3 guy is the AG who also is into black face. That leaves the majority Repub in the legislature as Gov, if the Dems can't break the chain. Hence the impeachment talk for the Lt. Gov.

    Politics. Not law or justice.

No, but thanks for jumping down that rabbit hole. The whole Ford thing was pure he said/she said just like with Fairfax and, to some extent, Clinton. Ergo, no matter what Ford said, unless she could produce evidence, it means nothing. What was important was Kavanaugh's reactions under oath. What was important is what he said during the hearing, not what someone said he did 30 years ago. In that, I think he was less than forthcoming in admitting they were a bunch of spoiled rich kids drinking illegally and chasing girls. A virgin until after college? WTF?

IMO, the best thing he could have done was a small mea culpa without admitting guilt; e.g. "I don't recall the event that Ms. Ford recalls. I do recall I set a poor example as a young HS student and did things I wouldn't want my own children to do. If I hurt anyone, I apologize. I am not that person anymore, but do admit I was wild and undisciplined in HS and college". Instead, he fed the monster by denials and emotional rants. Some of which I think he was less than honest about discussing.

    Politics. Not law or justice.

The Democratic Party leader has backed off impeachment for now.

Fairfax maintains that he's innocent and wants to defend himself. I say that he should absolutely be allowed to do that. Let's see if these women actually have something credible to support their accusations.

Kavanaugh did not appear to be dishonest.

All but one of his accusers has admitted that they made up the accusation. The one who hasn't, has no date, time or place this happened. Her named witnesses, ever her best friend do not corroborate her story. In fact they deny that they ever witnessed or even heard of any such incident.

Why would someone be so stupid as to admit to something then apologize for something they did not do?

You are judging him as a partisan. That's obvious.
