TSA isn't even law enforcement. They actually have no authority. But to address your point, airlines can have the same batch just as well trained as they currently are. I'm for advocating that the airlines cover this expense, not you or I as taxpayers.

Probably because its for the common good of the public. I don't use the fire department, police, town library nor public schools; why should I pay for something I don't use.

I'd agree with that. Most private companies are well known for "cutting corners" to improve profits, so It could be said that they place profits over security.

Safety you have no idea what im for or against, you have labeled me an enemy because I disagree with you politically on issues

I am for regulation when it makes sense and it actually HELPS all americans, not when its selective or when I believe it does more harm than good.

did you not say at one time, the police station was a stone's throw from you? You enjoy the nearby presence. But they are still minutes away.
We donate to our local volunteer fire department because it is voluntary. I can have them come out and burn an acre of tall grass if it hasn't been hayed out.
But I did not say to get rid of TSA. I said they should be financed via the airlines as they are the direct recipient. They should also be as well trained as air marshals.
95% of law enforcement is all about generating revenue. Here in Indiana, courts get 10% of the take. (Allen County is a wealthy court system)
But we are talking about TSA, aren't we? Can the airlines be responsible for training and dispersing of personal as well as the equipment?

Our fire department is volunteer staffed, but we have to pay tax dollars for the equipment, structures to house the equipment, insurance for the firefighters, training and pensions for the volunteers. Yes I do live a stones throw away from the PD, but I never advocated building the police station that close to my home, that was a decision made by the local politicians at the time.

The headline said "shut down the TSA" so I thought that meant to get rid of them.
There is a lot that the airlines can be held responsible for, but I don't think shutting down the TSA is the way to go. Perhaps taxing the airlines for the cost of the TSA services might be an option but I'd have an issue allowing the airlines to be in charge of on board security.

Never know when you will need Police of fire, they arent there for daily use they are there for emergencies.

Paying for public schools and libraries has been a complaint of people that dont marry forever.

I said, specifically, that the airlines should pay for TSA. It is a specific organization designed for a specific purpose. The community at large doesn't directly benefit from TSA as compared to police, or fire department. Since that service, TSA, is only of benefit to the airline industry, they should provide that service.
I can compare that to strip clubs that provide security service to their patrons, but not to the community at large.
