Modern construction in Rome yields ancient discoveries

I love it. Incredible. One of my many regrets is that I let myself be discouraged from pursuing archaeological studies.

Also, just for fun, here's a Roman bath still in use today in Algeria:

    You are wrong about police.

Cool stuff. While I have a keen interest in archeological finds, I'd never be one: too tedious digging and sifting through literal tons of dirt to find one significant find.

The wife and I were in Israel for 10 days last November. Seeing the Roman Colosseum is on my bucket list.

I have been to Rome twice, and would go back in a second. There is always something new (old) that they find. Just walking around you will come by several new dig sites.

I've been once and was enthralled.

Did not enjoy the stinky crowded buses or the feral cats, though.

Then you definitely wouldn't like Egypt.

I never took a bus. The cats don't bother me.

This is where virtual reality has a chance to really shine. Visit a city, walk through ancient sites without dealing with the living pestilences.

True. No overwhelming smell of unwashed bodies, no kids trying to hustle you selling cokes, etc.
