Soldier and Airman Granted French Citizenship for Thwarting Train Attack

A crazed Islamist tried to kill people on the wrong train. Three Americans beat him down.

Three California men have been granted French citizenship for their role in thwarting a terror attack on a French train in 2015.

Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler were naturalized Thursday at a ceremony in Sacramento. They were honored by Emmanuel Lebrun-Damiens, consul general of France in San Francisco, and Guy Michelier, honorary consul of France in Sacramento.



The three men were traveling from Amsterdam to Paris during a trip in Europe when they helped subdue a man who opened fire inside the train. Authorities say attacker, Ayoub El-Khazzani, had ties to radical Islam.


Skarlatos is a former member of the Oregon National Guard, and Stone is a former Airman 1st Class in the United States Air Force.

Personal good stuff that won't make the news and I don't have video.

My daughter was studying Macedonia and Greece so my husband let her borrow a silver tetradrachm to show her class (something we've let her do before and there were no problems) I asked her if she remembered to return the coin and she said she had brought it home, but then she couldn't find it.
We were all pretty bummed about it; she felt awful that she couldn't find it and we felt bad that she felt bad.
Oh well, what can you do? These things happen.

Yesterday, Farrah (our funny little ferret) was running around and she pulled the lost coin out from under one of the radiators.
