"Unmanly" advocates for male victims of abuse and discrimination.

Prior to discussing this subject, I would like to express gratitude to women who advocate for the Human Rights of male victims of abuse and discrimination. We are grateful to Senator Ann Cools and Erin Pizzey for standing up for male victims of Domestic Violence. We are grateful to Karen Straughan who advocates for men's issues. We are grateful to Christina Hoff Sommers who truly stands for Gender Equality -- she is an Equality Feminist true to the dictionary definition of Feminism. We are grateful to Cassie Jaye for making a documentary about disadvantages faced by men. We are grateful to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for upholding Presumption of Innocence and facing the wrath of SJWs and Gender Feminists. We are grateful to hundreds of women who advocate for men. Overall, about 15% of advocates for discriminated men are women, while 85% of these advocates are men. This nanoessay discusses alleged unmanliness of the latter.

Men in modern Western World do face severe disadvantages. In the Age of Social Media this should have been common knowledge, yet many people are unaware. Men face significant discrimination in Divorce and Family Courts. Male victims of Domestic Violence are more likely to be arrested then helped. Male offenders are much more likely to be convicted on the same evidence, and get 63% more time for the same offense. Men accused of Sexual Misconduct are presumed guilty by Mainstream Media and College Tribunals. Male Bashing and demonization of men is widespread in Mainstream Media.

Even though many men and some women are aware of the aforementioned issues, many "Liberals" and Conservatives believe that it is unmanly for men to complain about them. Most Conservatives believe that a man must be a Protector and Provider rather then a complainer. Many Conservatives believe that men must face hardships and unfairness with Stoicism. Many "Liberals" believe that men are Privileged Oppressors and thus have a duty to work on atoning their guilt without complaining. Many publications in respectable Liberal Media such as NYT mention the fact that any man will always be an oppressor and thus will never atone for his guilt. In New York Times article \#IAmSexist, Professor George Yancy states "I’m issuing a clarion call against our claims of sexist "innocence". I’m calling our "innocence" what it is — bull$#@!."

While "Liberal" discourse merits no response, Conservatives do raise some valid points. Gender Roles including men's role of a Stoic Protector and Provider have served the Humankind for millennia. From Ancient Sumer to 1950s USA, these roles may have been the best for Society. Perhaps some aspects of these roles are worth preserving in the Modern World.

Unfortunately, in Modern Western Society, traditional male Stoicism has significant drawbacks. In the past man's work and sacrifice gave him respect and some authority. In Modern World, a man is viewed as garbage regardless of his work and sacrifice. In "Dear dudes, you’re all trash", the author defines the highest virtue achievable by any man -- being trash which is less trashy then other men. Notice that the article has been published in respectable Liberal media. Many Liberal men devote their work and activism in order to obtain the aforementioned lofty status available to them.

One tweet by a woman is enough to destroy a man. Men's Stoicism and silence on issues affecting men as a class enables discrimination to escalate. If Democrats take power in 2020 or 2024, Modern Discrimination will look like Equality.

If manly men can not address issues affecting men as a class, then unmanly men and some women must address them. We have been raising awareness of these issues since 1980s and now more people then ever are aware of them. These issues are beginning to get coverage by "normal" people -- on Strong Conservative online channels and even The Fox News. President Trump himself mentioned that it is a dangerous time to be a man due to Presumption of Guilt. Hopefully, within a decade or two, the issues facing men will be addressed by "normal" people. Hopefully, these issues will become acceptable first in Conservative circles and then in Liberal ones.

Many Liberal men and some Liberal women would agree with Liberals on Economic Issues, but not with Liberal misandry. Men are not Oppressors. Hopefully, there will be a new truly Liberal rather then "Liberal" force.

Society's values can and do shift as several examples below illustrate. First, in 1950s and prior, LGBT Community was viewed as abnormal. By 1990s, it was accepted by Liberals. Now there are Strong Conservative members of LGBT Community. Second, being a feminist in 1959 was unladylike -- like advocating for Men's Issues in 2019 is unmanly. By 1975, being a feminist was very acceptable. Third, being an anti-Communist in USSR was a severe crime in 1937. By 1960, it became somewhat tolerated. By 1991, anti-communism became mainstream. Fourth, in Classical World, Slavery was accepted and Abolitionism did not exist. By the time of American Revolution, Abolitionism in America was a small but growing force. By the time of American Civil War, only Democrats supported Slavery.

Hopefully, by 2030s and 2040s, advocacy for Men's Human Rights will be manly and socially acceptable. More likely then not, Men's Human Rights will be pushed into the Mainstream by Draconian measures of the next Democrat presidency.

By trying to discern between "manly men" and "unmanly men" you are personally contributing to discrimination and stereotypes. Do you think that someone is going to come forward and talk about an issue if people are running around putting those labels on men? Further, you attach it to a generalization like "liberal" or "conservative" based on... what, exactly?

Men should not be abused in relationships. Only the most ridiculous individuals would say otherwise. There is likely a lack of services for men wanting to leave an abusive relationship, but it's also a vastly different "scene" than when a woman is trying to leave an abusive male. That becomes a major threat to the woman and to anyone who tries to help (cop). Unfortunately, many women also lack the resources to leave on their own especially with children which means additional funds and programs to help them. Control is a major aspect of the abuse, including controlling finances. Nonetheless, if a male decides to leave an abusive female, the physical threat is less severe. Women are generally not built like men, and I doubt law enforcement face the same type of threat that they would with a male abuser.

Some women need to adjust their assumed beliefs about what they say and how they act towards their partners. Slapping is often romanticized in movies and literature, for example. Nobody does that when a man hits a woman. I think that there are a number of double standards that exist and often go ignored.

No they don't. Puffs might. But (1) who wants to be a puff, and (2) who really cares about puffs?

The problem in the West is the feminization of men.

I agree 100%. The whole point of my post is that in Modern World the ideas of being "manly" and "unmanly" are outdated. Traditional Gender Roles served Humankind from Sumerian Civilization to USA 1950s, but now all roles are outdated.

On the other hand, a male victim of abuse is much more likely to be arrested rather then helped. He is also likely to lose his children to his abuser. His situation is extremely difficult.

In my opinion, the Gender Roles which have been beneficial to Society for millennia are no longer beneficial in rapidly changing World.

Perhaps 2019 is too early for advocacy for Men's Human Rights to go mainstream. Like 1959 was too early for Feminism to go mainstream.

But if the new Democratic president passes Draconian laws which discriminate against men, then Men's Human Rights advocacy will be pushed into Mainstream.

Feminism is decadent. Men's human rights are too.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

There are far more male DV victims than people think. Actually Lesbians have a disturbingly high rate of DV. With no eveil men involved! It may be that some dominate types cannot play within the rules or turn that off at home. I think regardless of however many genders we decide exist , there are $#@!s among them all.
