Morning Joe” panel on Friday was unanimous in slamming Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her role in pressuring Amazon to scrap plans for its second headquarters in New York City.
Co-host Joe Scarborough said the plan was killed by “people who don’t even understand basic economics,” and that left-wing politicians such as Ms. Ocasio-Cortez “ignored” the majority of black and Latino New Yorkers “who needed these jobs, who wanted these jobs.”


“The people who wanted the jobs the least are white elites in Manhattan, according to all of the polls,” Mr. Scarborough fumed, adding later that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez demonstrates a “basic ignorance of Economics 101.”


“We are in a dangerous place,” panelist Donny Deutsch agreed. “If people in the party don’t start to speak up against people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is young and dynamic but does not know what she’s talking about, they’re going to hand the presidency back to Donald Trump.”


Co-host Mika Brzezinski said Ms. Ocasio-Cortez and other freshman Democrats should do more listening and less talking.

She's an idealist as Deutsch alluded. Idealists are irrational and irrational people can't be reasoned with. This is a fight between traditional Liberal Democrats and Socialist Democrats. The Right should just stand out of the way while they tear each other down.

In addition to the 25,000 jobs, Amazon would've brought $2.5 billion in Amazon investment and eventually 8 million square feet of office space to Long Island City as part of its investment announced last November. The Seattle-based company said it would have generated "incremental tax revenue of more than $10 billion over the next 20 years as a result of Amazon’s investment and job creation."

I would advise you not to tell me why I support or oppose something. It’s rude and rarely accurate. I’ve worked for Amazon and still have contacts there. I know how they treat their AVERAGE workers and it’s deplorable. The people that would have gotten those nice cushy HQ jobs can still get good jobs elsewhere. Amazon pays zero federal taxes and under this deal would have paid virtually zero state taxes. The politicians wanted it so they could appease another big donor.
