Outside of the talent question- does a team want a political lighting rod?

Short term yes. But will they pay with a loss of fans?

I don't think you can seperate the two. If this was Tom Brady or even Cam, he'd of played the next year. But it ain't . The guy has no touch and little ability to get the ball out quick. a bad combination. It takes a zone D to stop him from running, but you pick zones apart with quick throws and touch. He has the ability to do neither.
I believe , even before this happened there was a contract clause to be respectful during the Anthem. He broke the rules, AND REFUSED TO STOP. When he almost got a job either he or his woman mouthed off in social media. Almost like he preferred the law suit?
The thing that still pisses me off is that his protest was misplaced to begin with. His beef was with cops, primarily townies who are not specifically represented by the Anthem.
What tone has the NFL set now?

NFL hierarchy has become a joke. They remind me of politicians who have turned everything on its head. What used to be acceptable is now frowned upon and what was unacceptable has been given protected status. How many times has a player run afoul of the law but only given a slap on the wrist? If the player does something really bad and his team cuts him then another team picks him up. The latest is Kareem Hunt who was arguably the best running back in the league. Cutting him was the right thing to do and it really hurt the Chiefs. Now Hunt might be playing for the Browns and if he stays as good a player as he was in KC the fans won't care one bit.

Come on man! It was always about this. This case is just another example of how the race hustle works. Jessie Jackson made millions off stuff like this. Goes like this. Incident drummed up. Media frenzy follows.. settlements are made by large corporations and on top of that the diversity consultants come in and do some "training" for mega bucks.

Social Justice???LOL I think it is about something else and that is clear.

Travis Tritt knows the game! Listen to the song if you don't know it!
