Virginia poll: Gov. Ralph Northam ‘weak,’ but safe

This ends the absurd "Lets Gettem" for 30-40 yrs ago Blackface crusade. Now all Politicians GOP and Dems can tell them to kiss their arses in public

The latest poll on the triple scandals rocking Virginia Democratic politics finds that while Gov. Ralph Northam’s approval is weak, the state is not demanding his resignation despite calls for him to quit from many officials including former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe.
The University of Virginia Center for Politics/Ipsos poll of Virginia adults also shows that Attorney General Mark Herring is on stable ground in the state, but pressure to resign is still strong on Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax.

Northam and Herring are involved in a blackface scandal dating to their college years. Fairfax has been accused of sexual harassment.

While only 17 percent of Virginia adults said that they approved of Northam’s job performance since the scandal broke, just 31 percent said he should resign. Another 43 percent said he shouldn’t.

It just goes to show that Trump's strategy of riding out scandals until they disappear from the headlines does, in fact, work, and that, accordingly, you can get away with anything if you're just belligerent enough because people have short memories.

    It worked for Chairman Maobama.

it begs to be asked. What Trump scandals? Should a non-crime become a crime 30 years later?
And when it comes to Stormy Daniels, technically that's called extortion. She should suffer two counts because she came back for more, after the fact. So, who is the real criminal here?

Turn on the news. There's a new one every day.

To name just a few of the more pronounced ones we've seen since Trump declared his candidacy:

-Claiming that the majority of immigrants are criminals in his announcement speech. The Dump Trump boycott campaign resulted, but he not only survived, but gained politically as a result.

-Calling for a "total and complete shut down of Muslims entering the United States" that fall, which prompted Republican Party leaders to publicly state their disagreement. He gained politically as a result.

-Endorsing violence against protesters of his rallies (e.g. saying he'd pay the legal fines of anyone who attacked them, etc.).

-Trump "University" being exposed as a fraud after conned students filed suit.

-Publicly calling for the Russian to steal and release to hack and release Hillary Clinton's emails amidst the Democratic Convention.

-The Access Hollywood video of Trump bragging about committing sexual assault on a routine basis, which prompted leading Republican officials, including then-House Speaker Paul Ryan, to call on Trump to suspend his campaign. Then the weekend ended and they were all back on board.

-The emergence of the Russia collusion hypothesis, termination of FBI Director James Comey thereover, etc. This one persists obviously. You know, the arrests. And convictions.

-Declaring the press "the enemy of the people" time and again and proposing its censorship by "expanding our liable laws".

-Refusing to cleanly divest his business holdings like all other presidents with such had done, leading to countless cases of suspected policy bribery and accusations of violating the emoluments clause of the U.S. Constitution.

-Yes, the "Stormy Daniels" question, mostly viewed through the lenses of censorship, intimidation, and conspiracy. Lawsuits resulted and Trump's case was defeated and his claims proven lies.

-We don't want migrants from African "$#@!hole countries."

-Drastically expanding the family separation policy, prompting a massive outpouring of public protest both in the streets and in the legal arena.

-The recent record-length government shutdown. Protests resulted and grew so loud that ultimately he actually caved.

-Declaring a national emergency to fund the extension of the southern border wall without Congressional approval.

Is it coming back to you now?
