No, they won't. They are going to defend Smollett by saying that America is really effed up with racism and homophobia if someone felt that they needed to do something like this to make their point.

They will say just the fact that someone would make up this story is an indictment upon the racism and homophobic aspects of America and that should shock everyone.

They will find a way to excuse and justify the perpetration of this hoax. They've done that with all the other hoaxes created over the last couple of years.

Jussie Smollett now a suspect for filing false report to Chicago police


Chicago police said Wednesday they believe that “Empire” star Jussie Smollett made up claims that he was the target of a racist and homophobic attack — and evidence against him was being presented to a grand jury.

“Case Update: Jussie Smollett is now officially classified as a suspect in a criminal investigation by #ChicagoPolice for filing a false police report (Class 4 felony),” police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi tweeted.


“Detectives are currently presenting evidence before a Cook County Grand Jury.”


Under Illinois law, Smollett could face up to three years in prison if charged and convicted of the crime.


The stunning announcement came about 30 minutes after two Nigerian brothers who have said Smollett paid them to help stage the incident were escorted into the grand jury offices at Chicago’s Leighton Criminal Court Building.


Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo were surrounded by about a half-dozen people in civilian clothing as they walked into the secure area on the fourth floor of the courthouse.

Watching the Chicago Police lay out their felony case and timeline on Smollett now. Except for a LW anti-gun rant at the beginning, the Police Superintendent was hard on Smollett and condemned him harshly. I doubt they're going to just let this go.
