Pope Francis condemns clerical sexual abuse but offers no new solutions

Pope Francis, concluding a "landmark" conference on sexual abuse in the church strongly condemned clerical abuse by priests within the church. It was noted that he stopped short of proposing any new policies or plans to combat the problems which have been plaguing the church over the past few decades.

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis strongly condemned clerical sexual abuse during a speech ending a landmark Vatican conference on the subject Sunday, but stopped short of proposing new policies to combat the crisis engulfing the Catholic Church.
"No abuse should ever be covered up as was often the case in the past or not taken sufficiently seriously, since the covering up of abuses favors the spread of evil and adds a further level of scandal," he said.

I think the church needs to move forward without any delay in proposing new policies which will help to protect minors and others in the church from possible sexual abuse by clergy members and/or church officials.

Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.

Their big change was to incorporate at local levels.

All local dioceses enacted new protocol in the late 90’s early 2000’s. These are all old cases.

    We will remain vigilant.

Locking corsets that fit from the navel to mid-calf. They would not be detectable from outside the robe.

    The solution is simple:

Either the Church calls the cops when parishioners make the mistake of complaining to the Church instead of to the police, or when a sinner confesses to sins of a criminal natue, or the church becomes accomplices after the fact, guilty of obstructing justice and conspiring with a felon to prevent the proper adjudication of the criminal before the law.

To put it olainly, the argument that the Church is trying to save the sinner ' s soul does not wash.

If the sinner has not truly repented of his crime in his heart, Jesus does not want anything to do with him. And one of the best ways for the Church to know if the sinners repents is to see him before the secular system to pay the secular price for his crimes. The Church can hold his hand, in front of the judge.

You're an odd person. Take your pet rodent for a walk. We, the local Catholics will take care of the problem when a complaint is made. The old days are gone.

Get rid of the $#@!s. That's the easy part. Making the priesthood the manly vocation it used to be... that's the hard part.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.
