Granted, on those days when I have a 30k loss (on the stocks portion) I have to remind myself that in every past case in six months I had completely recovered.
I don't have a lot. I lost in the recession but I didn't panic. Now I'm ahead for a ten year period. How much the value might be but I don't have anything to say anyway. I know that mattresses don't gain.

Its been interesting watching the markets work a quad Elliot Wave top. A teeter here a teeter there and this could get bloody for a while. Frankly , I think the market needs a good cleansing.

    I guess not.
Yes. Investing in the stock market is absolutely gambling. But so is pretty much anywhere else one puts their money.

But from an historical perspective....the stock market is a good investment option for those looking at the long term.

Everything you do in life, is pretty much a gamble.

If people didn't take risks (gamble) they'd never get anywhere.

True. That's why I get so put out with the "income equality ' crowd. Its amazing that after you raise the capital , you take the risk , you put in the blood sweat and tears they have the gall to step in and ask for a cut. Let them starve .

Any time you invest, you are taking a risk and gambling to some degree.
