I sure don't know how you came up with that one. Conservatives stand for limiting the power of government. Conserving it for the things required by the US constitution. The conservative agenda is advocating more individual liberties, less government control.

Obviously some people have no understanding of conservative principles.

Debt can be dealt with. Once a government becomes all powerful, the only way to deal with it is to abolish it and start over.

But this is really nothing new. From its inception in the 1950s, the new conservatives were divided between those like William Buckley who believed in keeping the government limited and promoting virtue by example within various community associations, versus those like Russell Kirk who believed the centralized state should be used to promote virtue. The history of conservatism is one of shifts between these two views.
There is nothing about conservatism that relishes a powerful, central, authoritarian state. Those who claim it err.

Clearly, you are not now and have never been a conservative.

All authoritarian statists believe as you do.

Hence the nation will fail. It will end. We have already moved beyond the tipping point. All we have before is us state-slavery and tyranny. And, if all is well, a successful rebellion or civil war.

Your concern comes too late. We are leaving them state-slavery and tyranny.

The era of limited government in the US ended a LONG time ago.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.
