    Exactly.

I'm a big gravy guy and a since I like to use gravy so often I've been keeping these in the pantry.

The portion size increase is a _good_ thing, especially if you're basically eating one meal a day. Not everyone is tiny, and not everyone is grabbing 3 meals a day at the fast food joint.

Caloric negation/starvation is proven to aid diabetics. It may be a cave man thing in times of fallow/stress.

I have read that stopping caloric intake can help people short term.

As with most nutritional advice there is conflicting stuff out there. I think for most people eating one large meal a day is not a good strategy. Regardless of the health possible pros or cons, few could stick to that strict food plan. No diet is going to work if you cannot accept the restrictions. That is the main problem with Keto and strict veganism.

And I think you are correct about the negative health effects.

There are many types of ways to use intermittent fasting - most don't suggest eating one large meal a day. The plans tend to advice people to not eat during a set period of time, such as from 3 pm until 8 am, giving you 17 hours a day of not eating. That gives you 7 hours to eat your recommended number of calories a day. Most people would eat at 8 am, following the example above, perhaps snack around noon, and eat again around 2:30.
