Erik Prince acknowledges 2016 Trump Tower meeting for first time

See more at the link https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/...194101138.html

    Excerpt:

Erik Prince, founder of the private American security company Blackwater, has admitted to meeting with members of the Trump campaign in August 2016 after, according to a public transcript, apparently failing to disclose the gathering during his testimony in front of the House Intelligence Committee last year.

When asked by Mehdi Hasan on Al Jazeera's Head to Head programme about the August 3, 2016 Trump Tower meeting that reportedly took place between Prince, Donald Trump campaign officials, an Israeli social media specialist and an emissary for two Gulf princes, the former Blackwater CEO did not deny the meeting took place.

"We were there … to talk about Iran policy," Prince said when pressed by Hasan.

According to the New York Times, that meeting was attended by Prince, Donald Trump Jr, George Nader, a former Blackwater employee and emissary for the crown princes of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Stephen Miller, then a top aide to the Trump campaign and currently a senior policy adviser to the president and Joel Zamel, whose company, Psy-Group, employed former Israeli intelligence operatives and specialised in social media manipulation, and was reportedly contacted by Rick Gates, a top Trump campaign official, for proposals for social media manipulation to help Trump win the election.

The vid in the link in the OP is really worth the watch. It is informative. Pretty crazy stuff. This guy is working to privatize the wars. He says we can pull out troops and fight the wars for less money. Just imagine Trump will be able to call the troops home and he will be called a hero who ended the war. But..... he will be hiring FSG to fight in their stead. We will think war is over but it wont be. The private company will not have to be held accountable in the same way that our Military would be.

To top it off they also do business with china which could be a conflict of interest. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-c...-idUSKBN18Q0WR

Also see 31:26 pretty crazy. That part is about his meetings at the Trump tower, before Trump was elected. It was with Trump Jr, and George Nader who acts as a blackwater back channel to Saudi's and emirates.

I mean we already have mercenaries committing atrocities all over the world. But it seems this guy wants to get rid of troops, and just go completely privatized. Maybe I misunderstood it but that is my take on it. I hate war, all war. I think it is pretty sick.

There was a law review article in the Army Lawyer, around 2001, that advocated for the UN recognizing and regulating PMCs. Basically, if PMCs were regulated and held to a high standard, nations could turn to them to handle 3rd World problems where no Great Power has a true national security interest to use their militaries to solve humanitarian crises.

If a PMC acted outside of regulation they could be punished, and if need be, hunted down and destroyed by other PMCs.

They are already partly private, such as the services of Blackwater. I disagree with all of it. If america must fight a war we should do so with our own military. Military should manage construction, POW camps, etc. That's why they have different MOS's.
Why hire mercenaries and be responsible for their behavior to fight wars we don't even need to be in? It's just an attempt to make war and interventionism more palatable, which the opposite of what we need.

We had our own soldiers deserting to Blackwater during IRAQNAM. The pay was like $ 900 per day!

Blackwater doesn't fight for our country....they fight for corporate interests!

That $900 a day was only during the heyday of the surge. And they also got expenses on top of that.

BlackWater was mostly contracted with the State Department, and they never lost a mark.
