Power outages get old real quick.

The longest I remember is 2 days, not as bad as 7, but, sucks just the same.

We had a generator but, it was in the shed and, neither of us wanted to wheel it out...it's an old one, gas powered, we never got around to installing something like a Generac..

That last outage, is what was the deciding factor.... move back to Arizona.

.... sorry about your wife, that must have been tough...

Thank you. The prolonged outage made me understand just how helpless modern life can be and exactly how dependant on electricity we really are. Having no idea when power would be restored added to the problem. It wasnt just my neighborhood, it was a very large tri county outage. Some were without power for 3 weeks. Ouch

We made do, the worst part was, our water came from a well, that had an electric pump.... when the water in the holding tank was gone, no more was pumped in.

We had a wood burning stove for heat and, the cook stove was gas, so, we really didn't have it so bad.... just being stuck out in the sticks with no power, wasn't very fun.

I have had a power outage of 3 days before after a hurricane. My roommate and I stayed at my g/f and her roommate's house in New Orleans. She had a big place with high ceilings so the heat wasn't too bad.

Sometimes I like to sit and watch a thunderstorm and feel that barometer change. However, not so much at times when i have outdoor activities planned.
