    My late Italian aunt would cook it with tomato sauce and sardines and parsley. She would serve this on pasta. It was in a word, disgusting but she liked it. She called it Pasta Dal Mara. I called it Italian Upchuck

    It must be good if cooked perfectly. But most times I've had it , it was as you described : over cooked rubber.
