    IMHO, everything needs to be consistent, you are either an adult or you are not. If you have the right to vote you should have all of the other rights that US Citizens have, Drinking, Buying Guns etc... If the legal voting age is 18 then you should be treated equally as an adult across the board. The age you become a responsible adult is an opinion, I know people who are 18 that are more mature and responsible than some that are 50. I also think if you are old enough to serve in the military and defend the rights of others you should enjoy those same rights. On the flip side if they want to allow 16yr olds the right to vote then they need to become adults at that point with the benefits and consequences that brings with it.
