What is this obsession with service? I don't care if Juan "God's Children" McCain served. That doesn't give him a free pass.

Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Think 3rd party for 2024 folks. Clean up America.
Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.

Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.
yep. I said it but you take it out of context. Ya see, I WAS there. What I saw haunted me for years. What I did haunts me today.
I know what heroes are. I fought along side many of them. To raise one of them above so many is cheap. All McCain did was drop bombs and ditch his aircraft. That does not make him a hero. He never killed up close and personal. He saved no single soldier by sacrificing his life.
He did not live with the consequences of his actions. He'd drop his load and fly back to his carrier, safe and sound while those ground pounders had to sleep every night in hostile country waiting to be attacked. We lived on a razor's edge everyday, thinking and dreaming that each breath might still be our last.
When I enlisted in '70, you had to be perfect except for eye wear. Missing the stub of a finger disqualified you. If you had bone spurs on your heels, you couldn't march. If you were missing a little toe, if you had cauliflower ears, if your taste buds were fried.........lots of things disqualified you from active duty.
They wanted PERFECT soldiers, the kind that could die easily and never actually be missed by the military.
The only reason McCain was elevated to hero status was because the military had to create a hero to justify what it did over there and it was a shallow attempt to deflect what we did. By declaring McCain a hero lessens what the rest of us suffered under or did to protect The Band of Brothers.
So when I say heroes were as common as scouring powder, it was not only accurate, but it was true.
