Plus Farmers know that last March the Demos wouldn't agree to a Farm Bill. Farmers know Demo Policies are far worse for them than Trump's Trade War with China.

So why wouldn't the Demo Senators even discuss the Bi partisan support bill that came out of the House?

Natural Resources Chairman Rob Bishop of Utah and Arkansas’ Bruce Westerman — the two GOP Natural Resources panel members on the farm bill conference committee — blame Stabenow’s side for holding up a deal they see as crucial to helping Western states dealing with catastrophic wildfires.


“Despite good faith efforts by the farm bill conferees, Senate Democrats refuse to even discuss these needed reforms,” Bishop and Westerman said, noting that nearly 1 million acres are now on fire nationwide. “We urge our Senate colleagues to listen to the stories of the farmers and ranchers affected by catastrophic wildfire, and work swiftly to finalize the 2018 farm bill.”


Forestry is one of the many titles in the farm bill that had not been finalized before House members recessed last week to hit the campaign trail.


What it means: The blame-game over provisions like forestry — not to mention the sniping over issues as narrow as rooftop gardens — is fairly standard posturing. But it’s also a sign of how much ground negotiators still have to cover before they can say they’re approaching a final deal.....snip~

I believe in evening the playing field. If /China tariffs our goods we do that back. In addition we tariff to deal with countries who use dollar an hour later. Strategically it is good to be your rivals bread basket and Trump needs to consider that. On the flip side it is stupid and short sighted to allow your own country to become dependent on daily staples from other countries such as oil.
