While inflation can be an economic indicator, it is far from the only one. You know that, right? What about wages? What about GDP? What about consumer confidence? Etc, etc.

No. Separate issues. Inflation can ruin the economy if too high. Then the polling on the economy would drop. Debt can crash the USD, then the polling on the economy would sink below 0.
