Not Haiku but a short little poem on the fly

    In, on or under
    No matter against the wind
    All around everywhere
    With, without, within
" I'm old-fashioned. I like two sexes! And another thing, all of a sudden I don't like being married to what is known as a 'new woman'. I want a wife, not a competitor. Competitor! Competitor!" - Spencer Tracy in 'Adam's Rib' (1949)

Art thou every retard among us related to thine uncle or mistress by way of moral or illegitimate rendezvous? Thus, we are one side of the other's coin by luck or pluck. - Jimmyz

So real. Sad, but very very real. I am so sorry.
Thank you for saying that. But it was not sad to me at the time. It was a hard time but not sad. I just seen it for the reality that it was. It was an experience of reality, and in turn growth. I already knew fully well that nothing is ours. But that experience really solidified it. You know what was really weird was that night me and my old man had went to the store to get some groceries, and something strange happened. On the way out of the store we both were stopped in our tracks. As soon as we walked out of the store, we were both overwhelmed with this surreal feeling. Kind of like the first time you go to a town that you have never been to before. It feels different, and so real. It was strange, like it was the first time we had ever been there. It was strange because we experienced it at the same time. We stood there for a while with our shopping cart and stared out at the night sky. To this day we never forgot that moment, it was like some part of us knew something was about to happen.

We went home like always, and it was in the middle of the night that someone lit our neighbors apartment on fire, in revenge for some drugs I guess. So all of us in that complex paid the price.

The way I see it is, we cant avoid the truth of reality, and everything is in constant transformation. But we can grow from every experience no matter how bad, there is always a lesson. You will always come out with something. Even now that I own a home and property. I know that it is not mine. It is only through the agreed social laws, that we call it mine. But the truth is that we are just borrowing it.

So while we sat out on the curb watching the flames it was quite touching. I knew that we were losing our things, but at the same time the flames were beautiful. The stars were still shinning. How lucky I was to not be caught it the pain of that moment, and see beauty, and reality. Normally pain and the mind blinds us to what is before our very eyes. How lucky we are if we are not blinded, even if for just a moment. How wonderful it is to see things just as they are.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

    The
    Kool-Aid was grape,
Served in Jonestown half past eight,
    Then all of them
    died.

I recall that it was 1978 and I was 21. A horrific tragedy with 909 souls lost and one-third of them being children. The poem itself is nicely penned and is rhyming which is not always the case in Haiku. Thanks a good read.
