They would rather be right than be President. I think that was a Goldwater thing. We know what happened to him.

There is no doubt that the far left has taken over the Democratic Party. Even the candidates who are considerened more mainstream are having to move way to the left. Their differences are minimal.

I don't see that. The majority of seats that D's took in the last election were practical centrists. I think what you are seeing with the far left types like OAC is the squeaky wheel getting the grease similar to when the Tea Party emerged on the conservative side.

there is some truth to this. The D's need to be careful that they don't alienate centrists by insisting on ideological purity or allowing a vocal minority in the party seem to be what the party stands for.

Of course you wouldn’t. You’re moving left with them. There are very few “practical centrists” in the Democrat party and the vast majority of them are old timers. They are being purged from the party.

My position has remained pretty steady for years so your contention is false. A lot of the new D members of congress are younger ex military centrists. You just don't hear as much about them because they are not as vocal as say someone like OAC.

Most newly elected Democrats are far left wing to one degree or another. Most support Medicare for all, reparations, basic guaranteed income, free college tution and the green new deal.
