They solved it by using very draconian methods, first office you went into drug rehab, second offense you went before the firing squad. I would not think that would be a viable alternative in this country but we do need to do more than what we are doing.

    This is what you said.
stop doctors from prescribed opiods to any and all patients.
Not quite sure how that make me an idiot.

I want my opioids. I noticed the government has increased my co-pay. I am sure that is to reduce my incentive to use them. However, it does nothing for the people who don't pay for their drugs. They sell them on the streets and make a wonderful profit.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

Its up to the patient of course to monitor their intake but we trust our doctors and becoming addicted is very easy.
I don't recall the specifics but opiods are needed for certain types of pain and for others are no better than Advil or Tylenol. If you actually need opiods you do not get high from them, you just don't feel the pain. Doctors need to monitor patients and tapper them off properly. Most tapper too fast or not at all.

Opiods make me sick to my stomach if I don't have enough pain for them, so it is very easy for me to know when to stop taking them. And stockpile the left overs if I need them later.

This is one of the dumber things you've said at this forum. And that's saying something...
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

We have to start by looking at the underlying socioeconomic reasons why people become addicted to these and other drugs in the first place and address them at the root level. Unfortunately, the socioeconomic conditions that give rise to drug addiction are usually the byproduct of some lucrative racket, whose beneficiaries do everything they can to keep it in place. Not to sound too reductionist, but it's basically a symptom of government that has become too big and too centralized. It is causing literal sickness in our society.

Opiod use in fla was out of control and by everyone of every age group. Gov Scott took positive action before most other states did 5 yrs ago and what he implemented has had a big affect on their dispensing and use
