    Actually I think the law, along with education and treatment did work. Far less DWI fatalities than there were back then. It did not require a death sentence. However, if we take your licence and you still won't stop drinking and driving you need to be in jail or prison to protect society.
    Just like other drugs. The drug should be legal, but putting people in harm's way under it's influence should not be.
