In addition there are so many outlets such as the video games you mentioned that compete for the time of potential players , fans etc its a true shift in society. A few months back I was talking to a parent and he said back in his day they would congregate and watch college football on Saturday. He came home early a few weekends before that and his teenagers were congregated in the kitchen using drugs. Drugs are robbing this country of so much from so many its very alarming.

We have Indians and Browns season tix. I try to get to a Buckeyes game once or twice a year. It's a fun thing to do but it doesn't feed the kids.

Sandlot sports used to be everywhere . I grew up rural and kids would walk in from a mile or more away to play sandlot baseball, street hockey or kids from one small town to face down kids from the next small town at football without coaches, parents or helmets and pads. Literally some of the best times of my life.
