My faith in science is shaken

It took a scientific study, with real scientists getting paid real money to figure out that

    Cats know their own names

    https://www.afp.com/en/news/826/clever-kitty-cats-know-their-names-doc-1fd46z1

I hope this was privately funded. It would be a shame to spend taxpayer money on this nonsense.

Wow, I wondered why when I called Isabelle my cat Isabelle would come running but when I called Dozie (my dog) she ignored me. Pissed I guess for thinking she was a dog??

When I call mine by name he perks up and chirps "what?" If I then say something like "get my slippers" he just stares and I can't tell if he doesn't understand or is just thinking "screw you get them yourself."

Money was wasted on this when some taxpayers wanted a beer.

My kitty knows his name since he was a wee thing.
I have a puppy that's about six months old that doesn't know his name and has no name.
    He's completely deaf.

He has no name? That's sad! Give him one!

Does he know hand signals? A friend of mine had a deaf dog, she taught her hand signals and, she had a companion dog that she stuck to like glue, she knew what was going on, by watching that dog.

My cats know their names. The dog knows their names, to, I say to him, " where's Rocky?" And he looks for Rocky.
