    Florida Concealed Carry

Florida leads the nation in concealed carry permits and we have far more than the number 2 state Texas.

Yet incidents with concealed carry are miniscule, since the highly reported "SINGLE INCIDENT" with Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, there have been a couple since then.

Floridas Murder rate and violent crime rate has gone down and yet florida has the MOST concealed carry permits of all states in the country, nearing 3 million

One statistic it does not address, is home invasions which have dropped dramatically

Why do you think we need a permit to carry when the right is already ours?

That is a great question. The 2nd Amendment states:

A case can be made that concealed, as opposed to open carry, isn't necessarily a right protected under the 2nd Amendment. No Constitutional right is completely without limit or restriction; freedom of speech, as an example, does not provide a license to say anything to anyone in all circumstances.

That said, I personally have no problem with law abiding citizens of legal age carrying concealed; I'm just pointing out that there are valid arguments on both sides of the concealed carry question.

You are correct, as far as I'm concerned. Firearm laws back to the 1930's are for the purpose of government taxation. You will find little or nothing that supports or has ever supported the contention by politicians and misinformed do-gooders that gun regulations protect people. They do not.

I support concealed carry over open carry. Here's my hypothetical as to why:

Open carry scenario: Convenience store has 3 customers. Bad guy enters store and quickly establishes that nobody is armed since only open carry is allowed, and he commences robbing the place.

Concealed carry scenario: Convenience store has 3 customers, one or all of whom might be armed because only concealed carry is allowed. Bad guy can't tell and isn't going to guess. He leaves.

With open carry, everyone armed and unarmed is obviated. With concealed carry, no determination is possible as to who is armed.

Like I responded to Luther, I do not want everyone carrying a concealed weapon, I dont want everyone to carry a gun. I want back ground checks, I do not want the mentally ill or x felons to carry guns

There should be limits and laws guiding concealed carry

When the good guys carry guns crime stats go down.

Do you think placing obstacles in the way of the law abiding does anything to keep criminals unarmed?
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
