I'm finishing 'Strongmen', and came across these political analysts and thought I'd share. The other day a former republican, I believe it was on NBC, summed up the republican part today. In a sense it is the same in much of the world where democracy is in danger. Change is too hard for many.

"Authoritarian values endorse the priority of tough security to protect the tribe against threats from outsiders, adherence to conventional group norms, and loyal obedience to tribal leaders."

'Cultural Backlash: Trump, Brexit and Authoritarian-Populism'

    https://www.pippanorris.com/cultural-backlash-1

"Authoritarian populists have disrupted politics in many societies, as exemplified by Donald Trump in the U.S. and Brexit in the UK.

The danger is that populist rhetoric undermines public confidence in the legitimacy of liberal democracy while authoritarian values actively corrode its principles and practices."

"Today we live in a society in which spurious realities are manufactured by the media, by governments, by big corporations, by religious groups, political groups... So I ask, in my writing, What is real? Because unceasingly we are bombarded with pseudo-realities manufactured by very sophisticated people using very sophisticated electronic mechanisms. I do not distrust their motives; I distrust their power. They have a lot of it. And it is an astonishing power: that of creating whole universes, universes of the mind. I ought to know. I do the same thing." Philip K. Dick
Here is where your jibba jabba falls apart, I checked the mother of all fake news, the NEW YORK TIMES, and they said this:

Overall, we rate the New York Times Left-Center biased based on wording and story selection that moderately favors the left. They are considered one of the most reliable sources for news information due to proper sourcing and well-respected journalists/editors.

The Times has a long, broad and deep history of heinous and criminal deceit among which:

    - Attempting to railroad the Duke lacrosse team.

    - Attempting to railroad, more successfully, naturalized US citizen Wen Ho Lee.

    - Attempting to railroad John Sidney McCain that they had no evidence to support.

    - Attempting to railroad Steven Hatfill for the anthrax attacks.

    - Covering up Stalin's purges and famines in Ukraine.

    - Promoted the idea that Saddam had WMD stacked up like fire wood.

    - Hiring serial fake newser, plagiarist, substance abuser and dropout Jayson Blair.

    - Gave preferred ad rates to leftist groups such as MOVEON.ORG while charging higher rates, if they didn't outright refuse them, from right wing groups.

    - Having a history of anti-semitic bias that predates the holocaust and continues to this day.

    and much, much more.

If that is what your approved source deems to be "one of the most reliable sources for news information due to proper sourcing and well-respected journalists/editors" i would like to share a phrase my grandpa Dubya would use frequently:

"Don't pee on my boots and tell me that it's raining."

    Authoritarian populists?

Talk about abuse of projection! lol

Whoever coined that term doesn't have adequate IQ to discuss politics.

How does one "disrupt politics"? What does that even mean?
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

It means think, speak, or vote in a manner Democrats and Progressive disapprove of.
