I don't think it's either, but, when I was a kid, I loved soy burgers. Today, I eat a fair amount of 100% soy burgers. It's nothing like real meat, but they're tasty enough. I like the soy bacon, and corn dogs too, lol.

Most soy from US sources contains GMOs - in fact, more than 90%. Furthermore, many soy products have been found to contain glyphosate residues. Then there are all the question marks as to whether soy that is not fermented could actually cause cancer. Hopefully, the products that you are consuming are made from organic soy.

Meh, you can't really escape that stuff. "Organically grown" is not a panacea. I consume Morningstar Farms products, mostly. They claim to be introducing more non-GMO soy into more of their products. To be honest, there's really nothing wrong with GMO foods. Glyphosate may be a problem, but the state of science today, makes me skeptical of everything. Ideology had basically ruined science, IMHO.

Oh, absolutely. Even back in Indiana, where I grew up, there were people who hated White Castles...and I'm sure it will be the same way here with the Midwest ex-pats. Just as there will be a mixed reaction from the locals who've never had one before. Since I came here in '93, I've seen several franchises come into town that the East Coast or Midwest immigrants went crazy for; In 'N Out Burger and Crispy Crème doughnuts come to mind. We were assured that this was manna from Heaven. (Neither was, of course.) I don't expect everyone to fall in love with the White Castle burger, but it's a bit of my childhood that I'm glad is still around.
By the way, the history of White Castle is fascinating; they were instrumental in getting the public to eat ground meat again, after the scandals surrounding meat packaging plants in the early part of the 20th Century. Every White Castle is owned by the company; there are no franchises, which is why there are relatively few restaurants. And I believe the current CEO is the great-granddaughter of one of the founders.
