Yeah, damn those liberals for making people racist and intolerant.
Both sides share the blame when it comes to division. It's pretty far fetched to claim liberals are solely to blame for the political and cultural divide. It's even more ludicrous to suggest that it's intentional.
They are correct. But in today's environment, even acknowledging basic facts can be construed by some as "pro-Russian" or "anti-American".
If Putin says two plus two equals four and you agree with him, suddenly you're a Russian puppet or something.
Anyway, US hyper-dominance in the aftermath of WWII was a historical anomaly. The natural order favors a more decentralized arrangement. The neocons who sit atop the crumbling US empire are thrashing desperately in an attempt to maintain their position. It would be amusing to watch them thrash about if only they didn't have access to nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. The temper tantrum of neocons resisting the inevitable is endangering the entire planet. Thankfully, the Russian and Chinese leadership seem more than capable of providing a rational balance to neocon lunacy. Let's just hope the neocons don't vindictively blow up the entire planet in the meantime.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

The world was almost destroyed by nuclear weapons on more than one occasion.
A multipolar order doesn't necessarily entail a free-for-all. It could just easily portend peace and stability. But that all depends on how the US chooses to manage the transition. Will it accept the inevitable and respond calmly and rationally? Or will it go into denial and resist all progress? You knew who your friends and enemies were -- and your enemies had an interest in you feeling comfortable and content. The free-for-all isn't good geopolitically.

Both sides want a war with someone. If it's not the D's against Russia, it's the R's against Iran. People won't be happy until body bags start coming home again.
