Russia Says ‘New World Order’ Being Formed

Russia Says ‘New World Order’ Being Formed

I think what Lavrov is saying is that the cultural globalism push by Western elites is failing. If that is true, I agree it is a good thing. But I don't think that means that the Western liberal model of society is dying. It is returning to nationalism- which is good and will strengthen the West. I have happy that Russia has resisted this impulse of cultural globalism and the siren song of the West's central banks.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared today that the Western, liberal model of society is dying, and a new world order is taking its place. Lavrov made the comments at his annual meeting with students and professors at the Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Academy, reported Russian state news agency TASS.

“The Western liberal model of development, which particularly stipulates a partial loss of national sovereignty – this is what our Western colleagues aimed at when they invented what they called globalization – is losing its attractiveness and is no more viewed as a perfect model for all. Moreover, many people in the very western countries are skeptical about it,” Lavrov said.

According to him, global development is guided “by processes aimed at boosting multipolarity and what we call a polycentric world order.”

It seemed like the world was safer then. You knew who your friends and enemies were -- and your enemies had an interest in you feeling comfortable and content. The free-for-all isn't good geopolitically.
Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect. -- Woody Hayes

Great power competition isn't really a free-for-all; it is just more complicated than a uni or bi-polar world.

Meh, he can say whatever he wants, we're not quite there yet. Russia's military capabilities are a shadow of the former Soviet Union's. Ours on the other hand, are not.

But I agree, the left is doing their best to weaken us, and having some success.

Russia is nowhere near being the new tough guy on the block. China maybe. Not Russia.

How are liberals trying to weaken the US? By consistently approving and voting for military budget increases every year?

If anything has weakened the US military, it was a protracted and outrageously expensive war in Iraq and cleaning up the problems that created. Thousands of soldiers dead and many more thousands wounded.

The left is weakening us by creating, and constantly fomenting internal strife, and division, and constantly attacking American values and principles.

I agree, the endless wars are not good for the country. If that's the case, why do libs go crazy when Trump wants to pull US troops out of war zones? Hmmmm.
