Socialist, ignorant or evil?

If you examine every collectivist society that ever existed you will find several similarities. First, they never survive long term. Secondly, they never deliver what they promise, prosperity and equality for all citizens and finally, they all degenerate into dictatorships and attempts to control every aspect of the lives of the citizens of that society. They all come into being because of a cadre of elitist who allegedly believe they know what is best for the people who cannot decide for themselves what is in their best interest.
Given my point in the above paragraph that none deliver and furthermore all resort to ever increasing restrictions on the actions of the people can we look at those who would press for collectivist (or if you’d rather, progressive, socialist, liberal or statist) ideology as either ignorant or evil.? Or both?

There are those who are simply ignorant and can’t or won’t face the fact that collectivism simply defies human nature because people do not inherently wish to be enslaved, be it to a single family or to an entire society. Socialism requires that we all become the Borg, in theory at least, what it actually does is enslave most while enriching a small group with enough power to keep the rest of us under their thumb. So, are these people simply ignorant of what it all means.

Or are they evil and think “no socialism doesn’t and can’t work but I can make it work for me?” They know the vast majority of the population will not see any improvement in their lives and will in fact have less freedom and a quality of life than before. But, they will prosper and become ever more blood thirsty and dictatorial to maintain their power.

So, which is it for our leftist posters, ignorant or evil?

I did postulate that in my second paragraph. I think even the ones who believe socialism could work are evil because their ulterior motive is to control everyone else. They may be ignorant to the fact is cannot work but they are still evil.

I believe most of the "leaders" of socialist ideology are not ignorant but are very aware of the control and dictatorial powers they will gain if they can get enough fellow travelers to keep the hoi poloi in check. I firmly believe the leadership is not ignorant but pure evil.

True socialism could probably work at the local level with a small number of like-minded people. But it would be fragile and subject to discord if diversity of thought and values emerged.

COMMUNISM fails as soon as the community's population is large enough for people to become strangers to one another, at about 2000 persons or so. Once strangers exist, people get away with mooching because the victims aren't sure if the moochers are doing their share or not.

2000 people is a small agrarian community using ANIMAL MUSCLE to work the fields. As soon as they desire machinery, they need more funds than the community can provide, and they run out of money.
