I think the oil workers threw the dog overboard and conjured up the rescue story. The sea is a huge place and the odds of the dog being where they were are as astronomical as it swimming 135 miles or being spotted

The wife says this is terrible, but also admits that it's a little bit funny. I was trying to come up with an appropriate name for the dog, and my first thought was Flipper. Then "Chum" popped into my head. Sorry - pretty dark, but that's the way my mind works at times.
