Sanctions on countries dealing with Iran

Whose interests does it serve? Certainly not the average United States civilian.

Everything we do affects the "average American civilian." What have you lost by the sanctions?

It would appear that running up debt is not a factor which prevents a president from being deemed great.

They all have done it for 85 years.

I learned tonight, on the news, that the exceptions that I noted in the OP are about to expire; and that they shall not be renewed.

(By the way, three of the eight countries--Greece, Italy, and Japan--have already eliminated all dealings with Iran, as concerning oil supplies. That leaves the three countries previously mentioned, plus Japan and Turkey.)

Who has the right to impose that on those who sell the goods?

Oh yes you should. Trump is slowly alienating the rest of the world against the US and that's good for world peace. He's even threatening the existence of Nato, which is really nothing but a tool of the US being used to legitimize aggression.

And I think the US should give it a try to see who really cares anymore. Doesn't the situation in Venezuela teach you anything about small countries that had to kowtow to the US, not paying much attention now?

Nuclear armed countries have Maduro's back now and all bets for war are off. MAD (mutually assured destruction) ensures that not everything is on the table!

In the event of a global "wipe-a-thon" , I think the US would be the first country to get wiped. Trump is in the process of turning all friends into enemies , in a desperate bid to cling to a situation that no longer exists. An empire in decline is a sad thing.
