Drug addiction is NOT limited to any particular group, white, black, male, female, ultra liberal, alt-right, are all represented in the number of addicts. In 2007 I had a motorcycle accident. I was prescribed Oxy for the pain and told to take it as often as I needed it. I was told to take several just before I went into physical therapy and was given as much as I wanted, with predictable results. Fortunately I was smart enough, once I got hooked, to recognize the problem and went to another doctor who weaned me off the drug and taught me a lesson. Many many people are hooked because their doctors, who we all trusted, tell us we should be taking these drugs to ease the pain. Entire industries have grown up around so called "pain management" clinics, which were nothing more than legal drug dealers. Florida was particularly active in this and I still see some clinics operating down here. When I lived in TN we had a housekeeper who died from complications from oxy and other drugs. You would be absolutely stunned if you knew how many people were taking these drugs.

No, its not a "Trump country" problem and these doctors and quacks should be not only shut down but imprisoned for as long as anyone selling heroin on the street corners.

As I understand it, she started with the prescription drugs, got hooked was in and out of rehab because of her inability to kick the drugs after moving into illegal drugs. They finally got her. She was a friend of my oldest daughter. Not a close friend but a classmate. Everything we get is based on what she has gotten from former classmates. She lived down the street from us. Her parents are still there. It’s a very sad case. Nobody talks about it.

My wife and I decided not to use opiods after we learned about his a few years back. We always ask and always refuse. I wouldn't take them after heart surgery. The pain was worth not getting addicted.
